The company is one of the leading Offshore Oil and Gas Fabrication Companies based in Nigeria. The company is on the verge of substantial growth and requires an individual to take control of the purchasing function.
The parent company is a diversified group based in Nigeria. The company employs 2000 people based and is based in Lagos.
About The Role
Heading up the procurement function you will be responsible for developing and implementing leading edge purchasing and supply chain practice to deliver cost and value benefits to the company and its clients.
You will be tasked with developing a supply chain which can deliver appropriate quality goods and services. You will engender a culture of close working relationships and communication with the suppliers and sub-contractors such that their quality, performance and on-time delivery is exceptional.
Skills and Experience Required
• Experience at the top level of procurement in a major organisation preferably head of procurement
• Proven track record of introducing modern procurement practice
• Proven track record in delivering significant, measured, cost savings and performance improvements in the supply chain
• Excellent team management, motivation and development skill
• Experience of building processes and systems and teams from scratch
• Experience of developing supply chain agreements
• Excellent spoken and written english
Qualifications Required
• Good technical degree
• At least five years procurement experience at a senior level
• Experience in West Africa would be beneficial but not essential
